Mohamed Salah spotted in training as Liverpool handed three more boosts
Mohamed Salah has been spotted back in training with Liverpool as he aims to make his return from injury this weekend. The Reds travel to Brentford on Saturday, when they’ll hope to have their talisman back in contention.
Salah has been missing for Liverpool since the 4-2 win over Newcastle on New Year’s Day. The 31-year-old was away with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, before making an early return after picking up a muscle injury against Ghana.
The forward underwent his recovery at Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre, planning on meeting back up with his international teammates later in the tournament. Egypt’s early exit in the last-16 though ended his hopes of potentially appearing in the final.
Salah though now looks ready to make his return for the Reds. The club’s top scorer was front and center as Liverpool posted a video of the players making their way out for training earlier today.
And he wasn’t the only boost for Jürgen Klopp. Both Alisson Becker and Joe Gomez were involved after missing Saturday’s 3-1 win over Burnley through illness.
Conor Bradley has also declared himself ready to take part in training again. The young full-back has recently been away on compassionate leave following the death of his father.
Liverpool.com says: What a boost for the Reds. They’ve certainly had no problem scoring goals in Salah’s absence, but there’s no doubt they’re a much better team, and a bigger threat, with the Egyptian in the side.
Having Alisson and Gomez back will also be warmly welcomed. They were never likely to be away for long, and they probably couldn’t have picked a better weekend to miss given the level of the opposition.
It’s fantastic to see Bradley back as well. It’s only right that he’s given as much time as he needs to ease himself back into the side, but once he does, hopefully he can pick right up where he left off.
