2 IOF Soldiers Killed, 24 Injured in Iraq Drone Attack on Golan
The Israeli army has admitted that two soldiers were killed and 24 others injured in a drone strike launched from Iraq early Thursday morning.
The Israeli army reported on Friday that two soldiers were killed and 24 others injured in a drone strike carried out from Iraq early a couple of days ago.
The Israeli military spokesperson announced, under the “permitted to publish” clause, that two soldiers from the Golani Brigade, Battalion 13, were killed when a drone launched from Iraq exploded in a military base in the Golan.
An investigation by the Israeli army revealed that the attack involved two explosive-laden drones launched from Iraq. One drone was intercepted by air defenses, while the second struck an army base in the northern Golan Heights a few minutes later, as per the army.
Abu Obeida lauds operation
Commenting on the operation, Al-Qassam Brigades military spokesperson Abu Obeida saluted “our brethren” in the Iraqi Islamic Resistance for supporting our Palestinian people in the face of the Zionist aggression, saying, “We commend their top-tier operation that targeted the occupation forces in the occupied Golan with drones, resulting in deaths and injuries.”
He further highlighted that the operations they carry out convey a message to the Israeli occupation that “your persistence in your aggression will bring you more losses and setbacks until you are driven out of our land, God willing.”
No warning; utter failure
The Israeli Army Radio said there was no prior warning to the soldiers as an (Iraqi) drone exploded inside a base, killing two soldiers and wounding 23 others from the Golani Brigade, detailing that the drone entered the Golan Heights airspace on Wednesday night coming from Iraq.
The radars failed to detect it, it maintained
Israeli media reported that sirens were activated across the Golan as a result of the Iraqi attack. However, the investigation indicated a failure to detect the second drone in time, resulting in no alerts being issued and leaving the soldiers at the base without sufficient time to take cover, as per Israeli media.
It is worth noting that Israeli media platforms have released a photo showing damage to the base targeted by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq early Monday.
One platform acknowledged that the threat posed by Iraq to “Israel” is significant. It also noted that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has “launched dozens, if not hundreds, of drones and cruise missiles.”
Iraqi Resistance conducts three operations against Israeli targets
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced the execution of multiple operations against the Israeli occupation on Friday morning.
In a statement, the Resistance declared that it successfully “struck three targets in distinct operations aimed at the Golan Heights and Tabarayya in northern occupied Palestine, using drones.”
The operations carried out by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq were a continuation of their commitment to resisting the Israeli occupation “in support of our people in Palestine and Lebanon.”
Additionally, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq pledged to “intensify operations focused on dismantling enemy strongholds with heightened vigor.”
On Thursday, The Iraqi Resistance announced that it attacked an Israeli target in the south of occupied Palestine via an aircraft with advanced capabilities deployed for the first time. In a statement, the Islamic Resistance affirmed that its fighters will continue to use this technology “to strike enemy strongholds with increasing intensity.”
The Resistance said the operation was “in continuation of our approach to resist the occupation, in support of our people in Palestine and Lebanon, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.”
The new aircraft deployed by the Iraqi Resistance enjoys higher flight speed and huge explosive capabilities and is designed for maneuvering to bypass air defenses for quick infiltration.
