Libyan army announces the destruction of air defense facilities “Turkish” in Misrata

“The air force targeted facilities for storing air defense equipment in Misrata, used by militias and terrorist groups, to store Turkish air defense equipment and weapons,” Hifter forces spokesman Major General Ahmed al-Mesmari said in a statement on his Facebook page.

The spokesman also warned armed groups and militias against attempting to endanger or threaten the security and safety of their armed forces and civilians by bringing in or importing any kind of weapons or ammunition from abroad.

For their part, the government forces of the National Accord confirmed the city of Misrata bombing, announcing the downing of a drone for the forces of Hifter.

The operation “volcano of anger” in a post posted on its Facebook page, the wreckage of a burning plane, stressing that it was shot down in Misrata after launching air strikes targeting civilian sites.

Hifter’s forces denied any planes were shot down and confirmed that all their planes had returned safely to their bases.

Libya does not have this type of advanced aircraft, and accuses the United Arab Emirates and Turkey of supplying both sides to the conflict with drones used in ongoing fighting.

The fighting between the two sides continued for the seventh month, killing about 1093 dead and 5762 injured, including civilians, while the number of displaced nearly 120 thousand people, according to UN agencies.
