LNA forces capture another Syrian mercenary when militias allied with the Tripoli-based government attacked al-Witia air base
LNA forces had earlier captued on Tuesday a Syrian mercenary fighting with the militias of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) at Ain Zara battle axis in Tripoli.
LNA fended off on Wednesday a massive attack on its forces, by militias allied with GNA, at al-Witia air base west of Tripoli, according to LNA operations room.
“Our forces fend off a massive attack by Erdogan’s mercenaries and terrorist organizations militias on al-Witia air base, defeating them, where they suffered huge losses,” said the Media Center of LNA al-Karama Operations Room.
“These are the militias that do not recognize armistice, agreements or humanitarian situations,” the Center added.
GNA militias stated that they launched an operation today to control the air base, and this is an admission that they were the ones who violate the humanitarian truce for confronting Corunavirus pandemic.
It is noteworthy that the forces allied with GNA include Syrian mercenaries that Turkish president Recep Erdogan brought through the airports of his country to Tripoli to support GNA militias in their battle against LNA.
