Al-Manafi to Establish National Reconciliation Commission in Libya
On Monday, the Libyan Presidential Council announced the establishment of a National Reconciliation Commission, calling on all political forces to fully engage in the process.
In a press conference, the head of the council Mohamed Al-Manafi affirmed that the formation of the commission is a response to the Libyan National Dialogue’s outcomes.
Moreover, Al-Manafi believed that the maximum benefit would be in the upcoming elections, stressing that the national reconciliation project requires a definite and clear action plan.
On his part, Deputy Chairman of the Council Abdullah Al-Lafi asserted that the council will not ignore those involved in crimes against humanity, stressing that they will be referred to the judiciary.
Furthermore, he pointed out that they must choose carefully those who will be included in the Commission, adding that they have not discussed about the names of any of the candidates.
Al-Lafi also noted that the National Reconciliation Commission is going to consist of a president and 6 members.
