Tunisian judiciary sentences prison on brotherhood member leaders in the So-Called “Airport” case
Tunisian judiciary Tunisian judiciary Tunisian judiciary Tunisian judiciary Tunisian judiciary Tunisian judiciary Tunisian judiciary Tunisian judiciary Tunisian judiciary court sentenced, in the so-called airport case of brotherhood members, Seifeddine Makhlouf and Nidhal Saoudi to 5 months in prison, Mehdi Zaghrouba to 6 months in prison, Mohamed Affas and Meher Zaid to three months in prison. Abdellatif Aloui received a dismissal.
In a publication on his Facebook page on Tuesday, Samir Dilou, a member of the collective for the defense of those involved in this case, said that with the exception of Meher Zaid, the others are accused of insulting a public official.
These judgments were rendered in absentia against Meher Zaid and Lotfi Mejri.
Dilou added that previously, the Judicial Justice, in charge of the case, had decided the dismissal of the case with regard to Nidhal Saoudi, Mohamed Affas and Abdellatif Aloui.
In a previous statement, Samir Dilou explained that the military court of first instance in Tunis decided to devote the trial on Monday, May 16, 2022, to deliberations and the pronouncement of the verdict without going through the hearing of the accused or hearing the arguments of defense.
In March 2021, deputies from the dissolved parliament and the al-Karama Coalition went to Tunis-Carthage airport to protest against the travel ban imposed on a woman on file S-17. They provoked an altercation and physically and verbally assaulted airport security.
