Turkey Insists that Ankara will not postpone or avoid military operation in Syria
Turkey will not delay or avoid a planned military operation in northern Syria, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said.
“As our president stated, there can be no question of agreeing to this, for us there can be no question of listening to this,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
In turn, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, in an interview with RT Arabic, said that the army and the Syrian people are ready, if necessary, to confront Turkish troops on their territory.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously announced an operation in Syria that the international community would “understand”.
