ISIS Responsible for Russian Embassy Attack
The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for an explosion on Monday in the Afghan capital.
ISIS says it carried out the suicide attack in front of the Russian embassy in Kabul. At least six people were killed and 10 others injured.
The Amaq news agency, which has links to the militants, says an ISIS fighter managed to get past security guards before detonating an explosive device near the entrance to the compound.
A crowd of people had gathered there to apply for visas.
Russia is one of the few countries that has maintained an embassy in Kabul since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan more than a year ago.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says two embassy staff were among the dead. He condemned the attack, calling it a terrorist act.
