Antony Blinken: U.S. Does Not Support Taiwan’s Independence
United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Chinese President Xi Jinping that Washington abides by US President Joe Biden’s commitment not to see a “new Cold War.”, APA reports citing breaking news.
Earlier, Xi stated that Blinken’s visit to Beijing could lead to “positive contributions to stabilizing” relations between Beijing and Washington.
As cited by Chinese CCTV, Blinken assured Xi that the US is not looking to change China’s system, oppose Beijing by strengthening allies and does not support Taiwan’s independence.
He further stressed Washington has no intention of engaging in a conflict with China and stressed managing bilateral relations between the two countries well is in both sides interest, as well as the interest of the rest of the world.
