UNICEF: Israeli war on Gaza has killed over 13,000 children
The Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Catherine Russell, has described the scale and pace of destruction in the Gaza Strip as shocking.
Russell said in a post on X that the war on Gaza has resulted in the killing of more than 13,000 children and countless injuries. She noted that the aggression has claimed the lives of teachers, doctors, and humanitarian workers.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7th has resulted in the killing of 33,137 Palestinian citizens, mostly children and women, and the injury of more than 75,815 others, according to a preliminary toll.
The UN official urged an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza, stating that homes, schools, and hospitals have been destroyed, warning that famine in Gaza is imminent.
