Day 314 of Gaza Genocide: 40,005 Palestinians Martyred, 92,401 Injured

Israeli forces are continuing their relentless assault on civilians in Gaza, resulting in the massacre of dozens of people.

On day 314 of the genocide in Gaza, the total number of Palestinians killed since the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip started on October 7 has risen to 40,005, in addition to 92,401 injuries, according to the daily report published by the Health Ministry in Gaza on Thursday.

“Israel” committed three massacres in 24 hours, killing 40 Palestinians and injuring 107 others, despite the ongoing ceasefire talks in Doha.

While some were transported to partially functioning hospitals, many victims remain trapped beneath the rubble with rescue crews unable to reach them.

UNRWA calls for a ceasefire for Gaza women’s sake

Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza for the sake of women and girls.

In a post on X, Lazzarini highlighted the dire conditions faced by women and girls, who may go months without basic hygiene, such as showers or menstrual care.

“They have to cut their hair very short due to lice, lack of shampoo, not enough water or combs,” he stressed.

Lazzarini went on to say that “many said they don’t feel safe, have no privacy or dignity in overcrowded shelters & displacement sites. They skip going to the toilet & therefore avoid eating or drinking water.”

He noted that some women have been wearing the same headscarf for 10 months and are struggling to maintain their sense of identity as women.

“A ceasefire for every girl & woman in Gaza also to restore some of their dignity,” he stressed.

“Women in Gaza are telling our teams they are struggling to see themselves as women. One woman said: “I don’t feel I’m a woman anymore”. This is another aspect of the deepening dehumanization of this war,” Lazzarini said.

It is worth noting that ceasefire talks for Gaza kicked off in Doha on Thursday, but prospects for a breakthrough seem slim as “Israel” imposed additional demands on US proposals.
