Day 374 of Israeli Genocide in Gaza: 42,289 Killed, 98,684 Injured

The Commissioner-General of UNRWA describes yet another night of horror in central Gaza, highlighting the devastation caused by airstrikes on tents housing displaced Palestinians.

Israeli occupation forces committed four massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, killing 62 and injuring 220 who arrived at hospitals in 24 hours, confirmed the Gaza Health Ministry on Monday.

This brings the total number of Palestinians killed since the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7 to 42,289, in addition to 98,684 injuries, the Ministry announced in its daily report.

The death toll is believed to be significantly higher, as thousands of bodies remain buried under the rubble from widespread destruction across the enclave.

The Israeli genocide continues

Dozens of Palestinians were killed and others were wounded, on Monday, as Israeli warplanes and artillery shelled various locations across the northern and southern Gaza Strip.

Invading Israeli forces targeted civilians at a supply center in Jabalia camp, located in the northern part of Gaza, as per WAFA news agency. This attack resulted in the killing of eight people and injuries to over 80 others, who were transported to Al-Awda Hospital in Jabalia.

Additionally, 13 people were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital after Israeli drones fired at displaced civilians sheltering in al-Fawqa school near Abu Rashid Pool in Jabalia, WAFA added.

Eyewitnesses stated that the bodies of people were scattered inside and around the area, with ambulances unable to reach them due to Israeli fire targeting those attempting to help the wounded and retrieve the bodies.

In southern Gaza, four bodies were recovered from the vicinity of the al-Rahma Mosque in the Al-Shaboura camp, Rafah, and transported to Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, according to WAFA.

‘Israel’ burns Palestinians alive in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital

At least four Palestinians were killed and over 40 others were injured in the Israeli bombardment of makeshift tents set up by forcibly displaced Palestinians on the grounds of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.

The Gaza Civil Defense reiterated that not a single safe place in the Strip exists, with the most recent attack against civilians and patients at the hospital serving as additional proof.

As a result of the violent bombings, fires broke out, burning at least 30 tents and civilians sheltering inside. The raging flames were spreading to the hospital itself as civil defense crews tried to contain them.

Commenting on the harrowing Israeli carnage, Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, described it as another night of horror in central Gaza, highlighting the devastation caused by airstrikes.

In a post on X, Lazzarini said a strike hit the courtyard of Al Aqsa Hospital, where people had taken shelter, igniting tents in flames. Meanwhile, a UNRWA school in the same area was also struck, resulting in the killing of 20 people. The school was set to be a site for a polio vaccination campaign that had to be canceled due to the extensive damage.

“Gaza is a never-ending hell,” Lazzarini stated, urging that such conditions must not become the norm and emphasizing the need for humanity to prevail.

In a post on X, they called for immediate global action to halt the ongoing destruction of civilian homes and essential infrastructure in Gaza, which is rendering the area uninhabitable for its residents and constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law.

In a different context, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society issued a warning that 70% of Gaza’s water and sanitation facilities have been either destroyed or severely damaged.
