UN Warns: Northern Gaza is Being Wiped Out.. Israel’s horrific attacks threaten to end Palestinian existence
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights warned that Israel’s attacks, restrictions and forced displacement in northern Gaza could lead to “the end of the Palestinian presence in that area,” while the Palestinian Center for Human Rights warned of a complete collapse of hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip.
“The attacks by Israel in northern Gaza are horrific,” the office said in a statement on Monday, adding that life has become “impossible” for civilians trapped in northern Gaza, with many on the brink of starvation due to repeated forced displacement and severe restrictions on access to essential humanitarian aid supplies.
He pointed out that Israel continues to bomb and brutally attack the area, especially the Jabalia refugee camp and its surroundings, noting that the Israeli forces stripped many citizens of their property before the onset of winter and destroyed homes and schools used as shelters.
On Monday, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, confirmed that Israel does not allow humanitarian aid to enter the northern Gaza Strip.
In this context, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the suspicious international silence regarding the Israeli occupation’s implementation of the “generals’ plan” in the northern Gaza Strip is an actual participation in the crime.
Hamas added that the international community must take urgent action to stop the massacres against Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip, and pointed out that the generals’ plan, which the Israeli occupation government is trying to implement, is a recipe for complete genocide, forced displacement and ethnic cleansing.
The movement pointed out that the Israeli occupation forces have prevented, for 21 days, the entry of any relief supplies into Jabalia camp and the northern Gaza Strip, and that they continue to bomb neighborhoods and homes, destroy water wells, and cut off communications and contact with the outside world.
Clips broadcast by Hebrew media outlets on Monday showed Israeli occupation forces forcing hundreds of Palestinians in Jabalia camp to evacuate their homes and forcibly move to other areas in the northern Gaza Strip and to Khan Yunis in the south.
The scene indicates that the occupation is continuing to implement the so-called “generals’ plan” to completely displace the residents of the northern Gaza Strip under the pressure of military threats and genocide operations by air strikes and ground incursions accompanied by a tight and comprehensive siege on the largest camp in the Gaza Strip.
In the last few hours, Hebrew media outlets have circulated clips of the displacement of Palestinians, accompanied by comments that celebrate breaking the steadfastness of these civilians and forcing them to flee. Some of them attributed this “success in forced displacement” to the martyrdom of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
“The Palestinians are raising a white flag and passing through checkpoints near Israeli army soldiers,” the Israeli Kan channel said in its commentary on a video clip showing a large gathering of residents walking to an unknown destination.
Al-Araby Al-Jadeed correspondent said that the Israeli occupation army expanded its ground operation in the northern Gaza Strip governorate on Monday, which entered its seventeenth day, and now controls the governorate completely by firepower, including Jabalia camp, the towns of Jabalia, Beit Lahia, Al-Mashrou’, Beit Hanoun, and the western areas.
He added: “During the siege of schools and shelters in Jabalia camp and Beit Lahia town, the occupation army asked men between the ages of 16 and 60 to surrender themselves, and forced women and children to take the eastern road towards Salah al-Din Street, and asked them to go south.”
Hospitals are threatened with complete collapse
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights warned, on Monday, of the complete collapse of hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, and their going out of service during the most difficult and harshest emergency times, with the continuation and intensification of the Israeli military attack for the seventeenth consecutive day in the governorate.
He confirmed that the occupation forces deliberately bombed the upper floors of Al-Awda and Indonesian hospitals, targeting them and besieging the patients and medical staff there two days ago, at a time when their bombing operations and the pace of targeting residential neighborhoods and civilian homes have escalated over the heads of their residents.
The center warned in a statement of the repeated deliberate targeting of hospitals in the Gaza Strip, bombing them, killing patients, medical staff and displaced persons, besieging them and forcibly evacuating them, despite attempts to partially rehabilitate some of those hospitals. However, the occupation forces insist on targeting them time and time again, leaving civilians without hospitals to treat them, which constitutes part of the crime of genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces.
The occupation forces are imposing a strict siege, depriving the civilian population in the northern Gaza Strip of any basic supplies that would save their lives, and confirming through forced evacuation orders their efforts to empty the remaining population by using starvation and deprivation of treatment as a weapon to achieve their military goals, which reflects their persistence and continuation in committing the crime of genocide, according to the Palestinian Human Rights Center.
The center expressed its great fear for the lives of more than 9,000 pregnant women in the besieged areas, due to the suspension of work in the 25 primary health care centers in the North Gaza Governorate.
The center stressed that leaving the health system in the northern Gaza Strip facing the risk of complete collapse, and the siege and targeting of its facilities by the occupying forces is considered a death sentence for thousands of wounded and sick people, in violation of international and humanitarian laws.
He called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to compel the occupying state of Israel to comply with the decisions of the International Court of Justice, to compel it to stop its military attack, and to take the necessary measures to protect civilians, civilian objects and civilian infrastructure, including immediately stopping the targeting of medical facilities.
The center stressed the need to pressure the occupation forces to open multiple routes to evacuate critically ill and wounded people, bring in critical supplies to the residents of the northern Gaza Strip governorate, and secure a safe humanitarian response for them.
He called on international organizations working in the health field, headed by the World Health Organization, to assume their responsibilities and pressure to protect hospitals and continue their work in providing health services in the northern Gaza Strip, and to provide them with full assistance and support.
On October 5, the Israeli army began unprecedented bombing of the Jabalia camp and town and large areas in the northern Gaza Strip, before announcing the start of an invasion of these areas the next day, under the pretext of “preventing Hamas from regaining its strength in the region,” while the Palestinians say that Israel wants to occupy the region and displace its residents.
Tel Aviv continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
With American support, the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza has left more than 142,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that has killed dozens of children and elderly people.
