Israel Has Killed 3,002 People in Lebanon, Airstrikes Only Intensify

The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health reported that Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon as of Sunday have killed 16 people and wounded 90 others. 

According to the center’s daily update on the toll and impact of the ongoing Israeli aggression, the cumulative number of casualties since the start of the hostilities has reached 3,002 martyrs and 13,492 injuries.

Israeli military drones have intensified their low-altitude flights over southern Lebanon, particularly over Tyre, Beirut, and its Southern Suburb since Monday evening.

Israeli attacks continued across various southern Lebanese towns. An Israeli drone targeted the town of Haris with a guided missile on Sunday night, resulting in civilian injuries. In Bent Jbeil district, another guided missile hit a car in the town of Tireh.

Surveillance and combat aircraft also flew over the western and central sectors of southern Lebanon, extending to Tyre and the coastal area, where flares were dropped over border villages.

Israeli warplanes launched further airstrikes on the outskirts of Jabal al-Batm and the town of Harouf. Meanwhile, rescue teams from the Islamic al-Risala Scouts Association worked to evacuate the wounded and clear debris in the town of Ma’aroub in the Tyre district following an Israeli raid earlier in the day. Another airstrike targeted a farm in Mashrif, Tyre.

Other Israeli air raids struck Aita al-Shaab in the Bent Jbeil district, with a loud explosion reported in Yaroun. Artillery shelling was also directed at the town of Shebaa in the Hasbaya district. The National News Agency reported additional artillery shelling in the town of Khiam, while an Israeli drone targeted the border town of Naqoura.

Devastating airstrikes throughout the day

Hours earlier, Israeli warplanes bombed a building near the Vehicle Registration Center (Nafaa) building on the Nabatiyeh-Haboush road.

Earlier in the day, Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on multiple locations in southern Lebanon. In the town of Deir Antar, two missiles struck a public square but failed to detonate. Another airstrike targeted the area of al-Wata between the towns of Doueir and Ebba.

An Israeli raid also hit a home in Marj Harouf, located between Harouf and Zibdeen in the Nabatieh district. The town of Yanouh was also struck, resulting in several injuries.

Our correspondent reported that an Israeli airstrike targeted a four-story home in the town of Deir Qanoun Ras al-Ain and also hit Wadi Jilou in Tyre and al-Ghassaniyeh in Saida.

Three civilians were killed in an airstrike on the town of Arabsalim in the Nabatieh district, while another attack on the town of Teffahta in the Saida district claimed three more lives and left several injured.

According to security sources, 118 out of 120 shelter centers in Zahle, Rashaya, and the Bekaa Valley are now full due to the influx of displaced families. Dr. Abbas Shaker, director of Baalbek Governmental Hospital, confirmed to our reporters that the hospital remains operational and is providing care for those injured by Israeli airstrikes.

In a related development, escalating Israeli threats have forced significant displacement from the eastern town of Baalbek, with many residents fleeing to the Bekaa Valley and others relocating to Deir al-Ahmar and Akkar in northern Lebanon.

Baalbek medical staff steadfast

In Baalbek, Abbas Shokor, the director of the city’s governmental hospital, told our reporters that the situation at the facility is under control. He emphasized that they are diligently providing care for the wounded arriving as a result of the Israeli bombing.

He reported a slight shortage of medications, especially anesthetics, and pointed out that companies are not supplying the required drugs. He added that the hospital is being forced to procure medicines from the black market to secure its needs.

However, he assured citizens that the hospital would continue to provide all necessary services to the injured and sick, adding that “No matter the attacks carried out by the occupation, we remain steadfast and will not abandon this land.”
