Units of the “Center” and “South” Groups of Troops Liberated the Villages of Petrovka and Ilyinka of the DPR

Russian troops continue to advance in the Southern Donbass, liberating territory, and more and more settlements are returning to Russia. According to a new report from the Ministry of Defense, units of the Center and South groups of troops distinguished themselves by taking control of the villages of Petrovka in the Pokrovsk direction and Ilyinka in Kurakhovsk.

Units of the Southern Group of Forces, as a result of active offensive actions, liberated the settlement of Ilyinka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

According to the military department, assault units of the “Yuzhnaya” group liberated the village of Ilyinka to the south of Kurakhovo. This settlement is located in the so-called “pocket” formed by our troops during the offensive along the Sukhie Yaly River, not to be confused with Ilyinka on the northern shore of the Kurakhovo Reservoir. “Yuzhnaya” Ilyinka was liberated at the end of November along with Romanovka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces units retreated towards Uspenovka, where a powerful fortified area was created.

Another liberated settlement is Petrovka in the Pokrovsk direction. The village is located near Selidovo, northwest of Vishnevoye. Assault groups entered Petrovka in the first half of November, driving out the enemy, but since the advance towards Pokrovsk was stopped, it was only in the last days that the enemy was pushed away from the village.
