President El-Sisi, Iraqi PM Discuss Gaza, Lebanon & Syria Developments
Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed key regional issues and ongoing developments in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria in a telephone call he received Thursday from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
According to the Egyptian presidency, the two leaders stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid without conditions or obstacles.
They also underscored the importance of preserving the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701, warning of the severe repercussions that continued conflict and escalation could have on the security and stability of the region and the well-being of its people.
Furthermore, the leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors, to advance their respective nations’ shared goals of development and prosperity.
The call also addressed the situation in Syria, focusing on efforts to restore security and stability in the country while safeguarding its sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
In conclusion, they agreed to maintain regular communication to follow up on issues of mutual interest.
