Occupation Bulldozers Set Kamal Adwan Hospital on Fire
Occupation Forces Target Kamal Adwan Hospital in Northern Gaza Strip, Sparking Fire in Intensive Care Unit
At dawn on Wednesday, occupation forces targeted Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, igniting a fire in its intensive care unit (ICU).
Hussam Abu Safiya, the hospital’s director, recounted the harrowing experience: “We were shocked when vehicles and bulldozers entered the hospital vicinity, preceded by relentless attacks on nearby homes. Gunfire and shelling erupted, leaving us powerless to intervene.”
In a video recorded outside the hospital, smoke billowing from the ICU was visible. Abu Safiya described the assault: “Sudden and intense gunfire rained down on the hospital using all kinds of weapons. The ICU was deliberately targeted, sustaining direct hits.”
He added, “We barely managed to evacuate the ICU patients on ventilators before the fire engulfed the department.” The ICU, he noted, is the only one serving the northern Gaza Strip, making its loss catastrophic.
