Israeli forces intensify military operations in Nur Shams camp

Israeli occupation forces escalated on Monday their military operations in Nur Shams refugee camp east of Tulkarem, following a raid early this morning. The raid coincided with the ongoing aggression against the city of Tulkarem and its refugee camp.
Israeli soldiers conducted extensive searches and house raids within the camp and its surrounding areas, forcibly evacuating residents and turning their homes into military outposts.
That Israeli forces deployed large military reinforcements to the camp, imposing a strict blockade around all its entrances and exits.
Several young men were detained during military raids in the school’s neighborhood. They were handcuffed and taken to an unknown location, while others were subjected to field interrogation. Some individuals were used as human shields by the Israeli forces.
Israeli bulldozers destroyed several streets within the camp, and also targeted the camp’s infrastructure, damaging water lines in the Jabal al-Nasr area. Forces destroyed several shops and homes, including setting fire to a house located on the main street of the camp.
In a later development, Israeli forces fired live ammunition and sound bombs towards families fleeing from the Jabal al-Salihin area in the camp. The attack created a state of panic among the residents, especially among women and children, however, no injuries were reported. Loud explosions were also heard throughout the camp.
In the morning, two women were killed by Israeli forces’ gunfire, including an eight-month pregnant women and her unborn child. Her husband sustained critical injuries to the head.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that two young men were injured by Israeli gunfire in their hands within Nur Shams camp. They were transferred to the hospital, bringing the total number of injuries today to five, including a 14-year-old teenager.
