A PSG official calls for Real Madrid to be punished for trying to include Mbappe
In a press statement, Leonardo said that Real Madrid tried to persuade Mbappe to join its ranks for two years.
He added: “From Madrid they deny this, but I think they have been working for two years to sign Mbappe. They should be punished.”
Leonardo went on to say that “Real Madrid’s style was not appropriate, and did not respect Mbappe,” according to the British newspaper, “Mirror”.
He continued, “They did not respect Mbappe. He is not just an ordinary player, he is one of the best players in the world.”
Leonardo confirmed that he was confident of Mbappe’s renewal of his contract with Saint-Germain, explaining: “We believe that the offensive cooperation between Mbappe, Messi and Neymar is ideal for the team, and there is no plan to replace the French star. We did not plan for the team’s future without him.”
Mbappe’s contract with Saint-Germain expires next summer, and he can negotiate with other clubs to sign a contract as of January 1, next.
And there were reports that Real Madrid made an offer to include Mbappe that exceeded 220 million euros, but he did not receive any response from the French club, with the summer transfer market closed.
