Al-Hayya: Hamas has Received the Occupation’s Official Response
Khalil al-Hayya, deputy head of the Hamas movement in Gaza, confirms that Hamas has received the occupation's official response regarding the movement's position.
The Deputy Head of the Hamas movement in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, announced that Hamas received on Saturday “the occupation’s official response to the movement’s position that it delivered to the mediators a few days ago.”
He also said that the movement will study this proposal, and “once its study is completed, it will deliver its response to the Egyptian and Qatari mediators.”
A source within the Palestinian leadership disclosed to our reporters that Qatar had faced significant pressure from both the United States and “Israel” some time ago. In turn, this pressure was intended to compel Qatar to exert influence on the Hamas movement regarding ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip.
According to him, the Hamas movement informed all concerned parties that it “is committed to Qatar’s mediation” and that it “does not accept any alternatives.”
The source clarified last Tuesday that this context sheds light on the recent statement by Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, indicating that Doha is currently “evaluating the mediation it is conducting.”
The source further noted that Washington had requested Turkey’s intervention in the negotiation process to exert pressure on Hamas to moderate its stance, highlighting that Hamas welcomed Ankara’s involvement in the Palestinian matter.
