Al-Mesmari threatens Turkey with a harsh Arab response of any attack on the city of Sirte
Libyan army spokesman Major General Ahmed Al-Mesmari warned the Turks of a harsh Arab response in the event of any attack on the city of Sirte.
Major General Ahmed Al-Mesmari asserted that the dreams of the Turks will end in case Sirte and Al-Jafra are attacked, After the battalion of “Tajura Guarantee”, which is allied with the Al-Sarraj Government, backed by Ankara, sent a new force Thursday, including Syrian mercenary elements, to the Sirte axes, the Libyan army warned the Turks and the Al-Sarraj Government against trying to approach the city.
It is noteworthy that the Libyan army was confirmed monitoring Turkish moves in the vicinity of the strategic city of Sirte and Al-Jufra, as part of the reinforcements and mobilization operations carried out by the reconciliation forces in preparation for a possible attack on the two cities.
He vowed that if Turkey carried out an attack against the city of Sirte, the “Arab and international reaction would be harsh, as there is an international alliance against Turkey,” he said.
He believed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan “will fall into a dangerous quagmire that will eradicate the Brotherhood’s presence in Turkey and his dreams of returning to Libya and the entire Arab region.”
He stressed that “Erdogan’s dreams of controlling Libyan oil are illusions and will not be fulfilled.”
In this context, Al-Mismari said in another statement to the Egyptian channel “DMC” that the air strike that was carried out against Al-Wattia base a few days ago, caused “psychological trauma” to Erdogan.
He added that the Turkish President “received a heavy blow in Wataya Base, He changed some of his plans, and he was looking forward to carrying out an attack on Sirte last week.
He added that Erdogan “is trying now, to respond to the blow of patriotism, and at the same time trying to satisfy public opinion in Turkey.”
He pointed out that “there is no confirmation about the killing of the Turkish Chief of Staff in the bombing of the Al-Wattayah base,” stressing that “there were deaths in large numbers, but (the Turks) did not announce, and the strike was successful at the level of personnel and equipment.”
He noted that Turkey “is escalating significantly and very dangerous, currently, in the region extending from the eastern Mediterranean to the maritime region of Tunisia, and is trying to send more naval pieces, weapons and equipment, to western Libya without stopping.”
