The Union of Bank Employees Syndicates Executive Council on Monday announced in a statement the end of their strike and the resumption of work in banks as of tomorrow.
A meeting was held on Monday between the Union’s Executive Council and the Board of Directors of the Association of Banks in Lebanon.
The Union was briefed on the security plan presented by the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces, considering it as sufficent to ensure the safety of employees and customers in the banking sector.
The Union also reviewed the procedures to be implemented by the Bank on the first working day, with the Union’s Council expressing some remarks on these procedures.
The Union urged all political forces to keep the banking sector away from the existing political polarizations, calling for speeding up the formation of a government to assume national responsibilities.
