Barcelona agree deal for Memphis Depay
The Dutchman will sign a two-year deal at the Camp Nou
Barcelona confirmed on Saturday they have agreed a deal to bring in Netherlands international Memphis Depay on a free transfer.
The deal has been rumored for some time but has now been made official with Depay set to arrive once his contract with Lyon expires at the end of this month.
Here’s Barca’s official statement:
“FC Barcelona and Memphis Depay have reached an agreement for the player to join the club once his contract with Olympique Lyonnais is at an end. The player will sign a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season.”
The news comes as no surprise with both Memphis and Ronald Koeman admitting this week that a deal was close to completion.
Depay becomes Barcelona’s fourth signing of the summer and joins Eric Garcia, Sergio Aguero, and Emerson Royal in completing a move to the Camp Nou.
