CAF Awards .. Mohamed El-Shennawy is the best local player in Africa
CAF awarded the best local player to El-Shennawy, who beat his Al-Ahly colleague, Malian Aliou Diang, and Moroccan Wydad star, Ashraf Dari.
The ‘Best Local Player’ award is given to African players who play for clubs within the continent of Africa.
El-Shennawy did not attend the ceremony personally, because of his commitment to the Egypt Cup final between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, and he sent a recorded message after winning the award.
El-Shennawy won the award during a huge ceremony held by CAF in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, attended by a number of legends of the continent.
