Cease fire violation, GNA militias launch air strikes on Washka area west of Sirte
Militias allied with the Tripoli-based Government of Fayez al-Sarraj (GNA) launched air strikes on Sunday targeting al-Washeka area west of Sirte, proving their continued violations of the agreed cease-fire in Berlin.
In a statement on the Libyan TV channel Al-Ahrar, which is close to GNA armed groups, the spokesperson for the media center of GNA’s operations for Sirte-alJufra, Ahmed Al-Qadi said, “The air strikes targeted the center of Al-Washeka and some areas near it.”
Al-Qadi confirmed the serious injury of the commander of the Sirte Operations Room of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Major General Salem Driaq, noting that he was in critical condition in Ibn Sina Hospital in Sirte.
Major General Salem Driaq appeared on a recording on Sunday night, while he was on the front lines of the Abu Qurain axis, accompanied by a number of LNA Forces soldiers, refuting being injured during the air strikes.
