Day 288 in Gaza: More than 30 thousand Martyred as ‘Israel’ Targets Civilian Homes
The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip, committing more massacres against civilians while imposing a tight blockade on the area.
More than 30 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting a number of homes in central Gaza over the past few hours.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has not ceased for the 287th consecutive day since the occupation launched its onslaught on the besieged strip, resulting in tens of martyrs and injuries, as well as extensive damages following a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling targeting several areas.
Israeli warboats also fired at the coast of Khan Younis’ beach, south of the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, occupation warplanes launched three missiles on a Palestinian house in the eastern part of the town of al-Qarara, northernmost Khan Younis.
In central Gaza, five civilians were killed and several others were injured following an Israeli strike targeting a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
No safe place in Gaza, UN agencies need security: UNSC
During the open discussion session held by the United Nations Security Council on developments in Palestine and the region, many UN and international bodies rejected the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza and warned of the worsening humanitarian crisis.
In his speech delivered by Courtenay Rattray, chief of cabinet of the UN secretary-general, he explained that nearly two million Palestinians have been displaced in Gaza and half a million are facing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity, in addition to the rise in infectious diseases.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres confirmed that the humanitarian support system in Gaza is almost completely collapsing, noting that there is no justification for the collective punishment of the Palestinian people in light of the ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip for about 10 months.
“Rafah is in ruins – and the Rafah crossing remains closed, further hampering humanitarian operations. Almost two million people have been displaced – nearly the entire population of Gaza – and many of them multiple times,” he stated.
“Nowhere in Gaza is safe,” he emphasized.
