Day 323 in Gaza: 40,334 Palestinians Martyred, 93,356 Injured
Thousands of victims in Gaza remain trapped beneath the rubble, with defense and rescue crews being unable to reach them.
On day 323 of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, the total number of Palestinians killed since the Israeli onslaught started on October 7 has risen to 40,334, in addition to 93,356 injuries, Gaza’s Health Ministry daily report said on Saturday.
Over the past 48 hours, the Israeli occupation forces committed five massacres across the Gaza Strip, killing 69 Palestinians and injuring 212 others.
While a number of victims were transported to partially functioning hospitals and medical centers, others remain trapped beneath the rubble, with defense and rescue crews being unable to reach them.
Health sector in shambles: Health Ministry
In light of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the occupation’s control over all crossings into the area, as well as its continued attacks on the health sector in Gaza, the Health Ministry issued a statement warning of the unprecedented impact of the medicine and medical supplies crisis on patients’ lives.
According to the ministry, hospitals and health centers are experiencing severe shortages of medications and medical supplies. Currently, 60% of the essential medicines list and 83% of the medical supplies list have been depleted from its warehouses, which could lead to a complete halt in treatment services.
The Ministry of Health urged all international and humanitarian organizations and relevant parties to urgently intervene and provide the necessary medications and medical supplies.
This includes emergency services, surgeries, intensive care, dialysis, primary health care, and mental health services, threatening the lives of patients.
Countries at UNSC reiterate urgency to end war on Gaza
During the Friday United Nations Security Council session, countries expressed deep concern about the deteriorating crisis in Gaza, calling for an end to civilian suffering and demanding a ceasefire.
Riyad Mansour, the Permanent Observer for the State of Palestine, emphasized that a ceasefire must be implemented immediately, under resolution 2735, without any additional conditions or detrimental demands that undermine the resolution’s intent and purpose. He condemned any attempts to obstruct ceasefire efforts with conditions that contravene the resolution’s spirit and objectives.
“When are you going to act?” he asked the council.
“Deal or no deal, there is no excuse for Israel’s continued killing of innocent Palestinian civilians,” he stressed.
