Egyptian Army Conducts Exercises Mimicking Breaking Through Enemy’s Frontline

Minister of Defense and General Commander of the Egyptian Armed Forces Mohamed Zaki attended the main stage of the tactical exercise – implemented by one of the units of the Second Field Army – comprising both soldiers and live ammunition.

That stage of the project consists of managing combat aimed at breaking through the enemy’s frontline by both the Air Force and artillery whose role is the destruction of reserves and distracting the command and control centers. The Air Force also carries out reconnaissance missions before the attack.

Armored vehicles and infantry develop the attack by further breaking the defenses of the enemy until they are destroyed with the assistance of armed helicopters and anti-tank guided missiles. The target is disabling the enemy from restoring its defense positions on different lines, and thus, inhibiting counterattack.

Moreover, paratroopers and “Thunderbolt Forces” carried out raids against certain targets, as indicated in the press statement released by the military spokesperson.

General Zaki delivered the greetings of Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces President Abdel Fatah EL-Sisi. He highlighted that the exercises conducted send a reassurance message to the Egyptian people on the constant readiness of its armed forces for combat.

In a related context, the general expressed appreciation for members of the Egyptian Armed Forces for the efforts they make to confront the current and unprecedented challenges that target the Egyptian national security on all strategic fronts.

In respect of the Palestinian Cause, General Zaki underscored the crucial and effective role assumed by the Egyptian state to support the cause throughout history, and that the contemporary crisis was dealt with in the highest degree of wisdom in order to achieve the two-state solution.

On that front, the general commander stressed that the Egyptian Armed Forces was able to face any challenges because of the strength and solidarity of the Egyptian people, noting that the Egyptian state had firm fundamentals and only serves national interest.

The general commander also mentioned Sinai Peninsula reiterating that safeguarding its lands would only be completed through comprehensive development.
