El-Sisi Hopes Gaza Ceasefire Deal ‘In Coming Days’
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Wednesday expressed hope that the agreement on the temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will be reached “in the coming days.”
The day before, the Qatari Foreign Minister underlined that there has not been progress in the negotiations between Hamas and Israel regarding the ceasefire and hostage release.
United States President Joe Biden previously said that he expects the ceasefire deal to be finalized next week.
The Palestinian militant group’s senior official in Lebanon Osama Hamdan commented on the leaked ceasefire proposal, stressing that the framework, which allegedly offers a six-week armistice that would secure the release of hostages from the Gaza Strip and Palestinian prisoners from Israel, does not meet the group’s demands.
