Erdogan: “Israel, Turkey to have talks on Gas delivery to Europe”
Turkey and Israel will hold talks on the delivery of gas from the Eastern Mediterranean to Europe through Turkey, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
“There will be talks by our Minister of Energy and Natural Resources with Israeli officials regarding taking such a step with Israel on natural gas,” Yeni Safak quoted Erdogan as saying.
Earlier, the chief adviser to the Turkish president on foreign policy, Ibrahim Kalin, said that gas from the Eastern Mediterranean could become an alternative to Russian gas for the EU.
According to him, the Israeli side declares its readiness, Turkey will continue to work within this framework.
