Israeli Actions in West Banks are ‘Criminal’: Albanese

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese slams the Israeli occupation's widening aggression in Palestine, calling for immediate intervention to end it.

The Israeli occupation’s actions in the West Bank are “criminal”, UN Special Rapporteur in Occupied Palestinian Territory Francesca Albanese emphasized, highlighting the expanding violence, aggression, and destruction beyond the Gaza Strip to impact all occupied territories.

Albanese, in a post on X, stated that she had warned the UNGA of the widening scope of Israeli aggression in an October report, and stressed that “Israel’s” “genocidal intent is evident” through its actions.

“The genocidal intent is evident in the way Israel targets (1) the totality of the Palestinians ‘as such’; (2) in the totality of the occupied Palestinian territory (that Israel claims for Jewish exclusive self-determination),” she stated.

Concluding her condemnation, Albanese called for an urgent intervention to put an end to the Israeli aggression.

On January 29, Israeli Security Minister Israel Katz said that “Israel” has declared war on the West Bank, noting that after the “military operations destroy military infrastructure built in the Palestinians’ refugee camps, our forces will remain in the [Jenin] camp.”

The Jenin refugee camp “will not go back to what it once was,” he claimed.

Hospitals in Jenin are also experiencing a severe water shortage after Israeli forces targeted and destroyed water supply lines, leaving 35% of the city’s population without access to water.

Since then, approximately 15,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from the camp, with many seeking refuge in nearby villages and towns.

The aggression also targets Tulkarm and its camp, while raids continue on Nablus.
