Lavrov: Russia is grateful to the UAE for its position on the events in Ukraine
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov praised the “balanced position” taken by the UAE regarding the latest developments in the situation in Ukraine, where Moscow is conducting a military operation.
At the start of talks with his Emirati counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed in Moscow today, Lavrov acknowledged that the developments in Ukraine are currently at the forefront of the international agenda, expressing his intention to inform the Emirati minister of “the steps taken by Russia in order to solve the problems that have accumulated there for years.”
Lavrov pointed out that the continuous contacts between Russia and the UAE “confirm the special nature of relations between the two countries and the endeavor of their joint leadership to continue developing them in all directions.”
“At the same time, I would like to express our gratitude for your thoughtful and balanced stance on this situation,” he added.
