Mohamed Salah becomes Liverpool’s top scorer in the Premier League
With his second goal against United, the Egyptian surpassed Robbie Fowler's record
Liverpool’s 7-0 dismantling of Manchester United had some historic consequences, and one of them came from Mohamed Salah, whose two goals made him the Merseyside club’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League.
Salah, who signed from Roma in 2017, surpassed the 128 goals scored by the legendary Robbie Fowler. With his aforementioned brace, the former Basel prodigy took his tally to 129 Premier League strikes.
Salah has blitzed a whole host of Liverpool records
In total, the Egyptian striker has 178 goals in all competitions for the club and these have come over the course of 291 official matches. Salah’s 129 Premier League goals have arrived in just 205 league games.
This latest feat follows Salah becoming the highest goal scorer in Champions League history for any English club.
With regards to Liverpool’s Premier League scoring charts, Steven Gerrard sits in third place with 121 goals.
