Egyptian star Mohamed Salah continued to write history with Liverpool and became his team’s all-time top scorer in the English Premier League after scoring the second goal against Brighton in the match that ended with the Reds winning 2-1 on Saturday in the tenth round of the tournament.
With his goal against Brighton, Salah became Liverpool’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League, taking his tally to 164 goals, placing him eighth on the list of all-time top scorers in the competition, ahead of former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler (163 goals).
Salah is just 11 goals behind Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, who is in seventh place with 175 goals.
Former Blackburn and Newcastle striker Alan Shearer is the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer with 260 goals, followed by current Bayern Munich and former Tottenham striker Harry Kane in second place with 213 goals.
Liverpool came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 on Saturday in the 10th round of the English Premier League. The first half ended with Brighton taking a surprise lead through Turkish midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu in the 14th minute.
The situation turned completely upside down in the second half, as Liverpool relied on quick, lightning attacks that cost Brighton an equaliser through Cody Gakpo in the 69th minute, and then the home side took the lead with a wonderful goal through Mohamed Salah with a rocket shot in the 72nd minute.
Liverpool raised its score to 25 points at the top, two points ahead of Manchester City, which suffered its first loss this season against its host, Bournemouth, by two goals to one.
