Mohamed Salah: Liverpool will bounce back stronger
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah believes this trophyless season for the Reds will make them bounce back stronger next season and “more hungry” for success.
Liverpool was beaten 4-1 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League’s 28th game week on Saturday.
After this defeat, the Reds dropped to the eighth place with eight points off the top four and have become in danger of not qualifying for the Champions League.
This also comes after Liverpool had been knocked out of the Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup to set for a disappointing trophyless season.
Speaking to BT Sport, Salah said: “It’s tough this season to feel you are out of all competitions, but this is football and we have to accept it.
“It will make us more hungry. We need to bounce back next season, that is the best way,” he added.
Despite a disappointing team campaign, Salah has been in impressive form this season scoring 23 goals and providing 11 assists in 40 games in all competitions.
The 30-year-old’s goal against Manchester City was his 56th away strike for Liverpool in the Premier League, surpassing Michael Owen’s tally of 55.
It’s worth noting that Salah became the club’s leading goalscorer in the competition after netting a brace in their 7-0 rout of Manchester United last month.
