Nicaraguan President Ortega called Zelensky a “fascist president”

Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega called Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky a “fascist president” during a ceremony to mark the anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution, broadcast on Canal 4.

In addition, the EU insisted on including in the final declaration of the meeting a paragraph with accusations against Russia. “Logically, we could not accept this, it did not make sense to include these issues on the agenda between the European Union and CELAC,” concluded Ortega.

As Ortega noted, European countries wanted to invite Zelensky to participate in the summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union, which was held on July 17 and 18 in Brussels. “The Europeans pressed hard, but most countries did not accept this, they could not put the fascist president of Ukraine there,” he stated.
