Palestine Calls For Urgent Arab League Meeting Over Genocide Against Palestinians
Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, the Permanent Representative of Palestine to the Arab League, said that Palestine has urgently requested an emergency meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives, as soon as possible.
Al-Aklouk explained that this request comes in light of the escalating Israeli crimes committed against the defenseless Palestinian people. He emphasized that Israel, as the occupying power, has escalated its aggression, entering a more violent phase marked by acts of genocide, forced displacement, widespread destruction and starvation.
Al-Aklouk called on the Arab League and its Member States to uphold their historical responsibility in addressing these unprecedented Israeli crimes. He warned that Israel’s atrocities; including the mass killings, destruction, forced displacement and starvation, pose a grave threat; not only to the Palestinian people but to the broader security of the Arab region.
The situation is particularly dire in northern Gaza, where Israel’s systematic efforts aim to depopulate the area, all amid international inaction, he added.
