The Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Counselor Aqila Saleh, met the President of the Cyprus Parliament, Demetris Silores, at the headquarters of the Cyprus Parliament in the capital, Nicosia, where the meeting dealt with the latest developments and situations in Libya and the region.

Today, Saturday, the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament referred to the “illegitimacy of the Fayez al-Sarraj government, the end of its mandate in accordance with the unconstitutional political agreement, and its failure to fulfill the role assigned to it and its alliance with terrorists, extremists and foreigners against the Libyan people.”
Saleh called for withdrawing international recognition of the “National Accord” government, and the two sides agreed during the meeting to form a permanent communication committee between the two parliaments.
For his part, the President of the Cypriot Parliament, Demetrius Silores, stressed the “importance of the relations between the two friendly countries and their support for the Libyan people and their will, their rejection of the presence of terrorists and extremists in Libya, and their rejection of external support for these militias and foreign interference in Libya.”
