Qatari ambassador Fahed al-Mushairi in London pestered assistant for sex
A personal assistant who was pestered for sex and asked to arrange orgies by diplomats at the Qatari embassy in London has been awarded almost £400,000.
Deanne Kingson, 58, a Briton who grew up in Yemen, told a tribunal how the Qatari ambassador, Fahed al-Mushairi, repeatedly tried to sleep with her. When she rejected his advances he turned his attention to her daughter who was then 19.
She said that another senior diplomat had pressed her to host sex parties and to go to Cuba on holiday with him.
A panel of tribunal judges concluded that Ms Kingson was seen by the diplomats as being “liable to be willing to engage in sexual conduct with male employees” because she was not Muslim.
