Seven Palestinians Martyred by Israeli Occupation Forces in Aqabat Jaber Camp “Jericho”
The residents of the Aqabat Jaber camp in Jericho did not find the bodies of seven martyrs who died in an exchange of fire with the occupation last night.
Israeli media reported, citing the occupation forces, that at least seven resistance fighters were martyred in a heavy exchange of fire in Aqabat Jaber camp, near Ariha.
Israeli media quoted “Rotter Net” as saying that there was an exchange of fire between the Palestinians and the IOF in the Aqabat Jaber camp in Ariha, noting that the Israelis called in additional reinforcements to the area, in addition to the entry of several military bulldozers into the camp.
Our correspondent in the West Bank reported that the residents of Aqabat Jaber camp did not find the bodies of the martyrs, amid fears that they would be detained by the occupation.
Israeli media later reported that the IOF was indeed holding the martyrs’ bodies.
Likewise, the “Yedioth Ahronoth” website, quoting Palestinian reports, stated that an Israeli occupation drone was shot down during an exchange of fire between the occupation forces and resistance fighters in the area before it caught fire.
In addition, Palestinian media reported that the takbeers in mosques rose in the refugee camp after occupation forces stormed the camp.
A joint statement on behalf of the “Shin Bet” and the occupation army stated that the IOF and “Shin Bet” carried out a joint operation in the camp, aiming to arrest a Hamas cell they claim had carried out a shooting in occupied Al-Quds on January 28, 2023.
According to the statement, the resistance fighters barricaded themselves in an apartment in Aqabat Jaber, with the help of their families and the camp’s residents.
In a statement published on their Telegram channel, the Aqabat Jaber Brigade said on Saturday that the days of rage began at 8 pm Sunday evening and will continue for three days.
The statement continued, “Let us all make them days of fire against the occupation,” calling on the people of the neighboring villages to “pour out their anger against the occupation” and head to the points of contact with IOF to confront the occupation.
Haniyah: Al-Qassam Brigades will continue its operations until the invaders are defeated
Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh issued a statement on the death of a number of martyrs in Aqabat Jaber camp and said that “despite the awful massacres, the Al-Qassam Brigades will continue its operations until the occupiers are made to leave.”
The statement added that “all international mediation attempts will fail at stopping our people’s revolutionary spirit, the enemy will not know rest.”
In turn, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Tariq Ezz El-Dinn, said, “the new crime committed by the criminal Zionist occupation against our people and our resistance fighters will not repress our people and our resistance.”
He added that the occupation that began since the occupation of Palestine was abrogated with killing, destruction and terrorism, will continue as the occupation “only understands the language of force,” stressing that the Palestinians will not back down from their resistance.
