State of alert raised among Sudanese security forces
With Sudan entering an unknown tunnel following the resignation of Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok on Sunday night, it seems that the security preparedness has become the master of the situation in the country.
Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath sources reported this evening, Monday, that the state of readiness among the security forces has increased, in anticipation of a possible deterioration of the situation.
She also indicated that the readiness among the regular forces reached 100%.
renewed demonstrations
These security data come as demonstrations are expected to renew in Khartoum in the coming days, refusing the participation of the military component in the transitional government, or the possibility of its seeking to nominate a replacement president for Hamdok to form the new government.
The Sudanese Professionals Association, which has adhered during the past months to repeated calls to take to the street, expressed its rejection of the participation of the military component in the government, despite Hamdok’s signing of a political agreement with Army Commander Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan on November 21, 2021, which was considered in statements to Al-Arabiya / Al-Hadath earlier today. That “the resignation or absence of the prime minister does not advance or delay anything in the path of the revolution.”
Political parties within Freedom and Change warned of the ambiguity of the current situation in the country.
He also indicated that “the real power is in the hands of the Military Council, and what is required is the resignation of the leaders of the Council,” headed by Al-Burhan.
Protecting the protesters
At the same time, Britain and the United States, as well as the UN mission, urged the security forces to protect the demonstrators and preserve the right to peaceful assembly, calling at the same time to maintain civilian rule.
These protests have left about 56 civilians dead, according to what the Sudanese Doctors Committee recently announced.
It is noteworthy that since the security forces imposed on October 25 exceptional measures, dissolved the government, and later signed a political agreement with Hamdok, the partnership between them was proven. .
