Sudan prime minister Abdullah Hamdouk calls on US to invest in his country
Sudan has called on the United States to invest in the country through public and private sectors, as well as normalize relations between the two countries.
A statement by the Sudanese Foreign Ministry on the ongoing visit of Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk to the United States that the latter met on Tuesday with the US Treasury Secretary, Stephen Mnuchin.
According to the statement, Hamdouk: “call for companies and the private sector and the American public to invest in Sudan and the exploitation of its resources for the benefit of the two countries, and called on US banks to open branches in Khartoum.”
The Sudanese Prime Minister expressed “his government’s serious desire to normalize relations with the United States, noting the need to drop the name of Sudan from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, and called on the Treasury to play a greater role in this framework.”
