Tension escalates as Israeli settlers attacks Sheikh Jarrah
Tension escalates as Palestinian factions follow-up committee calls on the Palestinian masses to fend off attacks by the Israeli occupation army and Israeli settlers, including the terrorist MK Itamar Ben Gvir, on the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
These assaults, including threatening Palestinians, demolishing Palestinian homes, and allowing Ben Gvir to set up an illegal tent in Sheikh Jarrah under the protection of the Israeli occupation military, are a provocative step against the Palestinian people.
The committee urges the international community to assume its responsibility and put an end to such systematic aggression against Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem.
This aggression will not deter Palestinian Jerusalemites, particularly the residents of Sheikh Jarrah, who have set an example in Palestinian defiance of Israeli fascism and settler violence and in standing steadfast in confronting the Israeli occupation.
The assault against Sheikh Jarrah, along with all neighborhoods of Jerusalem, amounts to an aggression against all Palestinians and the Arab and Muslim world, which has a duty of backing Palestinian Jerusalemites and protecting Muslim and Christian holy sites.
The committee announces a series of activities in support of Palestinian detainees in their struggle for their demands and against repressive policies practiced against them by the Israeli prison administration.
It also calls for mass participation in the activities due to be held across the Gaza Strip and West Bank in solidarity with Palestinian detainees to convey a message to the Israeli occupation that the Palestinian people support them in their legitimate fight for a decent life until liberation from the occupation.
