On Sunday, former Bolivian President Evo Morales called on his country’s government to sever ties with “Israel” and declare it a “terrorist state” in light of the massacres in occupied Palestine and its continuous aggression on the Gaza Strip.
“When we came to power after winning the elections in September/December 2005, we severed our ties with Israel due to our pacifist and anti-imperialistic principles,” Morales wrote on X.
He recalled that after the US-backed November 2019 coup, Bolivia obeyed “the orders of the [US] empire” and restored its relations with the Israeli occupation.
“He who does not reject genocides is an accomplice. Such genocide cannot be accepted in Palestine. Israel should be declared a terrorist state,” the former Bolivian leader stressed.
Morales requested that the current Bolivian government not only cut ties with “Israel” but also strongly and unequivocally condemn the massacres and genocide against the Palestinian people.
