U.S. General: “Very Difficult to Eject Putin’s Forces”
United States Army General and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley underscored on Friday that it will be difficult to “militarily eject” Russian forces from Ukraine, though he did not completely rule out the possibility of this scenario.
“This war, like many wars in the past will end at some negotiation table,” Milley stressed, adding that Russian President Vladimir Putin could end the war “right now.”
Speaking at the joint press conference with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in Germany following the meeting of Ukraine’s defense contact group at Ramstein Air Base, the general underscored that continued military support to Kiev and supply of equipment could help the country to bolster its defense and liberate its “occupied” territories.
