UN Envoy confirms that the conflict in Syria is linked to the Libyan situation
The UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salamé, linked the ongoing armed conflict between the Syrian regime and Turkish forces in Idlib, Syria, with the situation in Libya, saying, “Yes, there is a kind of interconnection between the two conflicts, which does not call for peace in either case.”
Salamé pointed out, during a press conference in Geneva on Friday, that there are international players responsible for the aggravation of the situation in Syria and Libya.
He also thanked those who attended the previous session of the Libyan political track negotiations in Geneva, which was held on Wednesday.
