US Launches New Aggression on Yemen with 15 Airstrikes

The United States renews its assault on Yemen, targeting the outskirts of the Yemeni capital with a series of airstrikes.

The US carried out a new aggression with 15 airstrikes on the southern and northeastern outskirts of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Wednesday evening.

The airstrikes targeted the Jirban area in the Sanhan district, south of Sanaa, as well as the al-Khadam area and Jabal al-Jamima in the Bani Houshesh district to the east, in addition to the al-Dailami Air Base to the north, according to our correspondent.

He added that eight airstrikes targeted the Jirban area in Sanhan district, while five strikes hit the al-Khadam and Jamima Rajam areas in the Bani Hushaysh district.

Additionally, our correspondent reported that US warplanes bombed the vicinity of Sanaa International Airport.

Yemen’s Al-Masirah TV had earlier reported 17 raids by the United States “on the Saada governorate,” on top of two more on Amran.

The official news agency, SABA, said that “the American aggression targeted the Oncology Hospital building in Saada.”

Sanaa’s Health Ministry confirmed that two civilians were wounded in the latest hospital attack, which it described as “a full-fledged war crime.”

Yemeni forces clash with US Navy in hours-long operation

Earlier on Wednesday, the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) conducted a military operation targeting the United States Navy Carrier Strike Group 8, which lasted for hours.

The operation began on Tuesday, which marked the 10th anniversary of the Yemeni people’s steadfast confrontation of the Saudi-led aggression, and carried on into the early hours of Wednesday.

Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree said that different branches of the YAF targeted US Navy vessels in the Red Sea, including the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, amid ongoing American aggression on Yemen.

The flagship of Carrier Strike Group 8 has served as the main launching pad for aerial assaults on Yemen, which have also targeted civilians, the cancer hospital, and residential areas, among other civilian targets.

Saree stated that clashes with American forces were ongoing by the statement’s release at 4:40 am (local time), emphasizing that the Yemeni forces were responding responsibly to evolving battlefield developments.

The US launched an aggression against Yemen on March 15, vowing to exert overwhelming force until the YAF ceased its attacks on vessels navigating the vital shipping lanes of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The spokesperson also revealed that the YAF’s Unmanned Air Force had launched multiple long-range one-way attack drones at Israeli targets in occupied Palestine.

On that day, a wave of US airstrikes targeted Yemeni territory, with the health ministry reporting that 53 people had been killed. In response, the YAF has declared targeting US military ships.

The YAF initially began attacking Israeli-linked vessels following the outbreak of the Gaza war, citing solidarity with the Palestinians. However, they halted their operations when a ceasefire took effect in Gaza in January.

Earlier this month, they announced resuming attacks in the strategically important maritime trade route in response to “Israel’s” aid blockade on Gaza, prompting the first US strikes on Yemen since President Donald Trump took office in January.
