Tunisian President Kais Saied Blocks the way on Ghannouchi
Few days ago Rached Ghannouchi transmitted a message to President of the republic Kais Saied, “guarantor of national unity,” suggesting the holding of a meeting “as soon as possible” to obtain a resolution to the political crisis in the nation. Ghannouchi proposes a meeting between the Head of State, the Prime Minister and the House Speaker.
“The current resolution to the political crisis in Tunisia is a dialogue between the three presidencies,” House speaker and Ennahdha leader Rached Ghannouchi told our reporters.
President Kais Saied, has not yet reached or reacted to the initiative he presented and which calls for dialogue between the three presidencies, under the auspices of Carthage, observers considered shows that Tunisian president’s knowledge of the background of the initiative and Ghannouchi’s maneuver to show himself in the position of seeking dialogue.
Rached Ghannouchi was met with widespread rejection within the political class, amid almost unanimity, in a move to embarrass Kais Saied and present him as a rejectionist of dialogue.
